Politics is the power of command and study of the state. Politics is the struggle for power and in order to gain power one uses power as means as well. Famous Greek Philosopher Plato has widely discussed his views in Republic regarding Politics and how a state must function. It is concerned with the workings of the government. Politics at international level deals with the relations among various states, international organisations, laws, and foreign policies.

Politics has the subject matter of state relations and one of its main features is that it has interdisciplinary nature which means it is related to the other disciplines of study such as Economics, Sociology, Geography etc. These disciplines affect the political organisations in a major way and affect the working of the governments and their policy making programs.
